PITTSBURG, Kan.— Wayland Baptist's fourth-ranked men's and seventh-ranked women's track and field teams turned in another impressive outing Friday at the Pittsburg State Invitational with two more school records going down.

Wayland Baptist's men are rated fourth and the women are seventh in the first National Team Computer Rankings for the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track & Field season.

Monique McPherson and Kabroderan Handsborough of Wayland Baptist have been named the NAIA Indoor Track Athletes of the Week following their performances at the season-opening Cherry & Silver Invitational last weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.

All-American distance runner Sylvia Sosa of El Paso has agreed to compete for the Wayland Baptist cross country and track & field teams. Sosa will transfer to Wayland from New Mexico Junior College.
