Former Wayland Baptist track & field standout Denise Leonie Williams-Mitchell has been named to the NAIA Hall of Fame, it was announced today.

(The WBU Athletics Hall of Honor will welcome five new members Rhane Jeffress, Caddo Matthews, Robert Johnson, Kevin Stinson and Rosa Ibarra during induction ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Laney Center. The public is invited.)

Wayland Baptist University has been named an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award winner for the 2015-16 academic year.

A memorial service for Beverly Steed, administrative assistant for the Wayland Baptist University Athletics Department, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 Utica St., Plainview.
